This policy covers Rooted Payments and this website. We're an independent payments brand, and this site's only purpose is to answer questions about payment processing and point-of-sale, then let interested merchants reach us.
What we collect
When you submit the contact form, we collect what you enter: your name, business name, email address, website, state, the category you selected, and whatever you write in the message. The form also records basic technical details such as the time of submission.
We ask you not to send bank account numbers, card numbers, tax identification numbers or copies of identity documents through this form. If underwriting needs that material later, it goes to the processor through their own secure channel, not through us.
How we use it
We use what you send to reply to you, to work out whether your business is a fit, and to prepare a written quote. That's it. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not add you to a list you didn't ask for.
Who we share it with
If you ask us to explore a merchant account or a point-of-sale setup, we share the details you gave us with the payment processing partner that would underwrite it. We share only what that review requires. We also use ordinary service providers to run this website and deliver our email, and they handle your information on our behalf.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
Analytics and cookies
We use basic web analytics to see which pages are useful to visitors. Those cookies record aggregate behavior such as pages viewed and how visitors arrived. They do not identify you personally, and we don't use them to build advertising profiles. Your browser settings can block them.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form submissions for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation. When you ask us to delete your information, we do, unless we're required to keep a record.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us. No website or email system is perfectly secure, which is exactly why we ask you to keep financial and identity documents out of this form.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to opt out of the sharing described above. Send the request through our contact form and write "privacy request" in the message. The form is the only channel we monitor, so it's the fastest way to reach us.
Children
This site is for business owners and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
